This triptych delves into the exploration of space through diverse artistic media, including painting and film. It focuses on architecture in its transitional states, those fleeting moments between construction and demolition, when buildings are inhabited not as originally intended, but in unconventional, unexpected ways.

With this concept at its core, AP Valletta commissioned and curated a series of films and paintings that reflect on three completed projects: the Barrakka Lift in Valletta, the double-helix staircase at St. Barbara Bastion, and the SuperFurniture installation at Stanhope Gardens in London.

The films capture glimpses of life unfolding in the shadows of these structures, lives marked by chance encounters, missed connections, and everyday movements. These are buildings born of the past, yet still shaping present experiences.

In contrast, the small oil paintings act as tangible extensions of these spaces, transforming into domestic artifacts and vessels of memory, objects that preserve and continue the life of the architecture they portray.
